Calibration Laboratory Assistant - Thermodynamics
This position is for a technically-minded highly organized professional to serve as a calibration laboratory assistant to perform in-house calibration and labeling on high volume semiconductor temperature sensor equipment. On-the-job (OJT) training provided for the right candidate.
As a Calibration Laboratory Assistant, you will inspect, test, calibrate and apply special labeling to a variety of thermodynamic equipment to ensure measurement accuracy. The calibration process is semi-automated and there is a huge emphasis on attention to detail in processing these sensors back to our clients. Barcoding, labeling and sorting is also a critical part of this position. Due to the volume of sensors to be calibrated, you will typically work with a team of 1-3 other assistants under direct supervision of a lab supervisor. This process involves proprietary programming in Python so operations of these programs will be taught. Previous experience in programming is highly regarded for potential improvements in the process.
This position will normally receive detailed instructions on work, acquire job skills, learn company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks, and work on assignments that are routine in nature where limited judgment is required.

Physical Demands/Work Environment
Ability to communicate orally with customers, management, and coworkers is crucial. Regular use of computers and email for communication is essential. Hearing and vision correctable to within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, receiving ordinary information, and preparing or inspecting documents and calibration activities.
The ability to remain in a stationary position roughly 75% of the time, as well as the ability to move about the laboratory as required. Using a computer or calibrating while sitting or standing for extended periods is common. Continuous heavy lifting is not expected.

This is a 120 question online test, geared around calibration of equipment, tolerances, mathematics, science, logic and general aptitude. It is highly recommended that you prepare yourself with pencil, paper and a calculator. In addition, get yourself a cup of coffee or other beverage, relax and think about the answers you provide. Upon completion of the online exam, you will be presented with your score. The exam is timed for 2 hours.
