$2000 Sign-On Bonus

+$5 add-on per hour (at least until January 1, 2022)

Schedules and Pay Ranges Available: (Base Pay $33.06 - $37.70/hr depending on experience.)

  • AM Shift = $33.06 to $38.85/hr +$5
  • PM Shift = $33.06 to $42.75/hr +$5
  • Night Shift = $38.11 to $42.75/hr +$5
  • Weekend PM Shift = $46.95 to $52.75/hr

*These pay rates and ranges include a variety of differentials available based upon shift and responsibility level. For example, the Weekend Nurse pay has a $10 add-on per hour and PM and Night differentials.

**All other shifts have an additional $5 until 1/1/22 for worked hours.

The Nursing Supervisor - Assistant Manager would like all applicants to know that she's looking to create the best team in the DOC. These positions are responsible for providing professional nursing care to inmate patients in both ambulatory and infirmary settings, providing patient assessment and treatment, assisting physicians in providing medical services, managing medications, providing emergency care, and maintaining medical records. In addition, these positions are expected to participate in educational programs for staff and patients and participate in activities to maintain competency at a minimum proficient level.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.

The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

Applicants must possess licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin or licensure as a Registered Nurse in another state. Applicants must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin at time of employment.
