Essential Job Functions & Associated Tasks of the Registered Nurse (RN)
1.) Resident Care
2.) Leadership and Supervision
3.) Administration, Documentation, and Communication Duties
4.) Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- MN Registered Nurse license in good standing
- Two years of experience in a health care setting working with seniors
- Able to read, write and speak English
- Good computer software skills
- Skill in recognizing physical, mental, and emotional needs of residents
- Ability to exhibit professional behavior and attitudes
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local regulations and nursing standards.
- Must be able to handle stress, and be calm under pressure
- Current First Aid, CPR and AED trainee

Jerry Mogren, my father and a life-long Maplewood resident, dreamed of creating a beautiful, safe and affordable community for seniors. In 1993, I joined him in breaking ground on the Carefree Cottages of Maplewood, a 62+ rental community, offering independent and assisted living.
Over two decades later, the property continues to be owned and operated by the Mogrens. Our philosophy is simple: treat residents as if they’re a part of the family. Seniors always deserve love and respect and they’re entitled to live in a safe, beautiful place, surrounded by an active community.
That’s what drives us at Carefree. Our 263-unit community offers a variety of housing—from completely independent living in a spacious, single-level cottage to assisted living in our Carefree Chateau, which includes care plans, meals and housekeeping. Our property is designed to grow with residents as their needs change.
