WORDPRESS DEVELOPER

This Wordpress Developer role will work with an energetic team that is responsible for delivering web sites for Firefly Engagement clients. You will be part of a growing and collaborative team that is developing responsive and engaging sites, with an eye towards site design, optimization and usability across multiple distribution channels (web, email and social) and multiple platforms (phone, tablet and desktop). The role requires the blending of numerous content types (text, graphics, images, audio and video) to help create an immersive and enjoyable digital experience for our audiences. You must have strong communication skills to work across the Firefly Engagement organization including content development, marketing, finance (AdOps/AdTech) and our executive team.

Responsibilities:

• Front-end web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Back-end web development (WordPress, PHP, MySQL)

Qualifications:

• Requirements:
  • No vaccine requirements
  • 2-5 years of web development experience
  • Proficiency in Wordpress in building custom themes or plugins
  • 1+ years of agile development methods
  • Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP and Javascript

• Desired:
  • Familiarity with Linux
  • Ability to troubleshoot & maintain legacy code and sites
  • Familiarity with industry web standards and good time-management abilities
  • “Can do” attitude with a flexible mindset to solve complex problem
  • Ability to migrate/move a WordPress website from one server to another
  • Working knowledge of Cloudflare

• Additional Expectations:
  • Able to easily understand existing code and write clean, clear, fast new code
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be a continuous learner and desire to help others learn
  • Enjoy having fun…bonus points for interest in Magic the Gathering, D&D, Destiny online, or Nintendo 64 games
