Full Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a DOT Inspector for a national engineering consulting firm in Columbia, SC. The ideal candidate will perform regular testing, observation, and inspection of construction projects. They will also check construction drawings, report their findings, and communicate those findings back to their Project Manager. They will collaborate alongside the crews at the site, and complete a daily inspection report of their findings and results. The construction projects will primarily be roadway work, and conduct CMRB (Cement Modified Recycled Base) performance reviews. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, be willing to take the lead on assignments, and adhere to strict safety standards. A valid driver’s license with minimal infractions is required as candidate’s will be driving from the office location to the work site each day in a work vehicle.

Must Haves:

  • SCDOT Earthwork Certification
  • Earthwork, asphalt, or concrete (at least 1 of those 3)
  • Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license


  • Associates or Bachelors Degree
