ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND ABILITIES:

REPORTING & AUDITING

Prepare daily "End of Day" email to manager

Maintain accurate reports of daily moves, counting & scanning inventory

Maintain maintenance log for shipping & receiving equipment & forklift log

Various duties as assigned

DAILY OPERATIONS

Develop, improve, and streamline job functions and procedures in department manual

Document and maintain written job functions and procedures in the department manual

Read and respond to e-mail and other correspondence

Support day to day dept. operations & staff, applying dept. policies & procedures, & making recommendations

Gain exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function

Communicate effectively with all corresponding parties involved regarding inbound & outbound shipments

Communicate with drivers and vendors in a positive manner

Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Manages the shipping & receiving dock availability upon driver's arrival

Manages the receipt of inbound and/or outbound shipments

Verify that all required shipment documentation is obtained from the Shipping Coordinator and readily available

Verify all inbound and/or outbound shipping documents against the carrier's paperwork

Promptly unload and direct all incoming shipments

Promptly assist in organizing and dismantling shipments received

Visually inspect pallets for damages and/or flaws, change pallets when needed for shipment preparation

Prepare outgoing shipments (i.e. shrink wrap and prepare outgoing pallets)

Organize and hand to Shipping & Receiving Specialist all completed shipment documents (i.e.: BOL's, PO's...)

Operate forklift in a safe manner to load & unload freight, materials and/or supplies

Complete janitorial duties as needed (i.e. removing trash from receptacles daily)

Ensure the removal of pallets and waste from the Production floor

Ensure that Assembly carts are stocked daily

Assist with next day preparation for Assembly department

Support function for Assembly department (i.e.: assist with builds) as requested

Assist the Facilities Manager with maintenance tasks (for building and equipment)

Ensure products and/or shipments are labelled correctly

Support function for Machine Shop department as requested

Ensure shipments and products are labelled correctly & complete pallet check sheet, when required

Maintain and ensure adequate shipping supplies are stocked

Support function for Purchasing/Scheduling staff in outside vendor pickups

Oversee and assist when needed, the acceptance and documentation of inbound and outbound shipments

Oversee and assist when needed, unloading and organizing all incoming shipments

Oversee and assist when needed, prepare outgoing shipments (i.e. shrink wrap and prepare outgoing pallets)

Operate forklift in a safe manner to load & unload freight, materials and/or supplies

Complete Pick-n-Pull duties (pull inventory to help prepare for shipping)

Various duties as assigned 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or equivalent is required, undergraduate education a plus

Experience working in a warehouse setting. If none, we will train.

Warehouse safety knowledge and experience preferred. If none, we will train.

Shipping and/or logistics or related experience preferred. If none, we will train.

Basic knowledge operating forklift (electrical) trucks, preferred

Basic knowledge of general use electronics & tools

Basic knowledge of inventory/picking

Some experience working with office equipment and office computer applications

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations

Ability to perform under pressure

Desire to help others and work within a team

Familiarity exercising professional discretion

Experience multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks

Strong interpersonal skills

Basic computer and typing skills (min. 15 wpm)

Must submit to a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol screen 

WORKING CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENT

Ability to bend, stoop, push, pull, reach, and lift within applicable OSHA guidelines

Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment

Ability to lift up to 50lbs, bend, stoop, reach and lift within applicable OSHA guidelines

Ability to work in a dynamic, pressured, and ever-changing environment

Ability to stand for long periods of time

Ability to walk up and down a single flight of stairs several times a day 

COMPANY BENEFITS:

Medical: 100% base plan premium paid by employer for employees, 50% base plan premium towards employee dependents (Eligible after 30-days of hire)

STARTING HOURLY RATE:

Starts at $15/hour, depending on experience
