Job Overview
A Carpentry Assistant will perform a wide range of tasks for both residential and commercial clients.
Abilities Required:
Able to read a measuring tape and cut materials to exact lengths
Able to effectively use general carpentry tools such as saws, air compressors, nail guns, hammer, table saw, multi-tool, jigsaw, etc.
Proficient in carpentry related math skills such as basic arithmetic, geometry, imperial measurements, and fractions.
General framing and home renovations skills
Other Requirements:
Must live in Hampton Roads or the surrounding area (45 minutes from Smithfield, Virginia).
Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation
Have your own cell phone
Fluent in English
Proven experience in carpentry
Willing to work indoors, outdoors, tight spaces, and in all types of weather
No fear of heights and the ability to work at heights (fall protection provided)
Ability to regularly lift or move objects up to 80 lbs. without assistance
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
Drug-free and willing to submit to drug intoxication testing
Able to pass background checks for military base access'
