Qualifications/ Responsibilities:
- Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment
- Must have, a minimum, one (1) year of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related health care facility
- Ensure adequate and appropriate staffing of the facility nursing department to meet the needs of the residents based on budget, census.
- Must possess creativity, integrity, and initiative
- Plan, organize, and implement skills training programs/in-services for clinical staff and other departments; Perform orientation classes
- Develop educational strategies to facilitate quality improvement efforts
- Focus on Quality improvement
- Overseeing Infection Control (including Employee Health)
- Maintaining in-service educational records
- Coordinating the function for CNA certification training classes
- Coordinate with and utilize community resources in meeting educational and staffing needs
- Oversee the process for competency evaluation of new employees
- Recommend progression to permanent employment or extension of orientation/probationary period for new employees
- Work closely with HR regarding hiring process and new employee files.
